Before the rush of wedding season I finally carved out some time to make my own cake topper. I was having a hard time deciding what to do for my self portrait. Funny how sometimes the idea is so obvious you don't even see it. I love Pin Up, Rockabilly and 50s culture so why not doll myself up and make me the perfect house wife... I mean business woman/artist. Notice the little cake topper that I'm taking out of the oven.

It has been some fun here on Prince Edward Island. For the last two days Regis and Kelly have been here filming their show on location in Charlottetown! You can feel excitement in the air...its as thick as the humidity. I feel so lucky to live here..it is truly a wondrous place.. it is magic. When I think of Regis and Kelly I see them in a topper...they are so funny and darling that you want them on your mantel :D.
UPDATE...my sculpture made it on the July 15th 2010 Live with Regis and Kelly. I can't wait to see the show... its going to be great. Someone sent me a picture they took from the audience of the big screen while Regis and Kelly talked about the sculpture.
Kelly came to me with an idea to have the King and Queen of Hearts cards as her cake topper for her Vegas wedding . She wanted something a little more special then sticking two cards on the top of her cake. I couldn't agree more. I really wanted the cards to interact with each other. When I looked at the cards I realized that the King and Queen only face each other on the diagonal which is when I came up with the idea of having the King and Queen come out of the cards.
I can't wait to see what wedding cake for this cake topper. The dogs are going to be on the top tier looking down at all the little wildlife creatures on the lower tiers.
A couple of South Park fans approached me with a project in mind. They had designed their likeness in South park style on a website and asked me to make it their cake topper. I thought it was a great idea and took on the project. Results = Cuteness Overload
